The 2022 Annual Meeting of the Organized Hamlet of Day’s Beach will be held at 10 am on July 3, 2022.
Please note that the voting procedures outlined in the May 30th letter are not supported by legislation, so we have revised them.
You will need to be present at the meeting to vote, neither proxies or advance voting will be allowed. We are investigating a hybrid meeting to allow people unable to be at Day’s Beach to participate by Zoom but haven’t figured out if we can do it yet.
In accordance with the section 25 of the Municipalities Regulations all matters taken to vote at the Annual Meeting will be voted on by eligible voters present at the meeting. There is no provision for proxies or requirement for advance or mail-in voting in the legislation, so we are unable to provide those options for official votes held at the meeting. Eligible voters are as follows:
Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years old and one of the following:
1. Residents of the OH of Day’s Beach
2. Property owners in the OH of Day’s Beach (people listed on the title)
3. Spouse of a property owner
For matters where the Hamlet Board is required to make a decision and the matter is not required to be subject to an official vote we will conduct a survey of eligible voters to allow us to make our decision based on the views of as many residents as possible. We will use Survey Monkey to collect information from those voters who are unable to attend the meeting. We will distribute a link to the survey after all the materials have been published and expect to have a link available by June 28th.
